Ealing Transition Book Club

Ealing Transition Initiative has its very own book club, formed by members from across Ealing.s community. We meet monthly to discuss, debate and understand issues raised in the books we decide to explore. At the start of December we all raised a toast to the completion of our first book, the Transition Handbook, and decided to continue with gusto onto the next book.

We have selected Local Food: How to Make it Happen in Your Community (Tamzin Pinkerton and Rob Hopkins) as the next book to read as it is both accessible and practical and will give us lots of ideas and inspiration as we set about making local food production a reality in Ealing. The book club is not only a great way of understanding the important issues more clearly, it also helps the community of Ealing turn theory into action.

The next meetings will take place on:

  • Sunday 17th January 2010, 7.30pm
  • Sunday 21st February 2010, 7.30pm
  • Sunday 21st March 2010, 7.30pm
  • Sunday 18th April 2010, 7.30pm

We are a friendly bunch and always welcome new members, so if you are interested in finding out more or want to come along to our next meeting, please don.t hesitate to get in touch.

Copies of 'Local Food' are available at discounted rate.

Email: janbaker@radix.wanadoo.co.uk for details of where we will be meeting, and if you would like to obtain a book.
