Local Food Event

Just shy of 100 people joined us for our Local Food day on Saturday 21 November 2009, and participated with great energy and enthusiasm. We had a range of talks both dramatic and inspiring, and an excellent afternoon of debate and planning.

For a slideshow of pictures from the day, click here here
.

Nine groups formed to discuss and plan the following:

  • Advice for First Time Growers
  • Local Food Distribution
  • Food Policy
  • Local Composting
  • Locally Sourced Food Directory
  • Energy from Food Waste
  • More Land for Growing
  • Competing Demands on Green Spaces
  • Vegan Sources of Protein

The immediate output from these groups is here and already demonstrates what is possible when a community starts to act together.
